Cooking is a transfer of energy and emotions, a truly meditative process of creation. This is the line that truly resonates with me .

Thanks Hanz. Jigar is an urbanist with a very keen eye for the little big things in the universe he embodies.

Hello Minaz, and a Happy Easter. I’m not sure how I missed this post until now. I have just woken from a doze, something I rarely do, but I am on medication for sinusitis and antihistamines have that effect on me. Yes, I’ve been in the kitchen, and that was part of my morning today preparing a few things for Easter Sunday when we will have family over. There will be contributions to the meal, but me being me will do the bulk of it, that is one of the reasons I plan way ahead and have things that I can prepare one of two days before.

Happy Easter Sally. We are making hot cross buns today. Easter eggs are being sourced from a local home chef. Not yet decided on the food, but we may go ahead with something simple and wholesome. Do share pictures of your Easter feast

Wow, making your own hot cross buns! I bought mine from the Coles Supermarket, and the chocolates I have for the family are the mini Lindt and Cadbury eggs, we don’t do the same as you. We should compare our food for the day. Here is our Easter tree and the Easter egg bags for the family. Hmm, not sure where the photo went

Our eldest son enjoys cooking also, but I don’t think he would be adventurous enough to make buns, but then he makes his own pasta, so who knows? You will have to wait for Sunday our time for the family feast, tonight is Curried Smoked fish with mushrooms and capsicum, not an easy photo shoot. 😁

My son is interested in cooking. So he's the one who is making the buns. I don't experiment much. Just the basics. Will share pictures by evening

Besides food cooked in our homes and eateries, there's interesting category of food. The community cooking where men and woman volunteers prepare food for whole group. The best example is 'Langar' in Sikh gurudwara. The food thus prepared is tasty and sumptuous. Similiar is Bhandara in Hindus.

I missed Muslim 'community meal. In congregation of Muslims the food is prepared by professional cooks known as 'bhatyara'. This normally one coarse rice preparation, Biryani Or Pilaf.

It is more important to give appreciations on the spot when we are enjoying the meal.

I have an uncle who has been married for close to 5 decades and everytime you dine with them he will tell us "dekho kitna accha khana bana hai tumhare aunty ne." It will be basic dal chawal and he appreciates it everytime. I adore him for that :)

I read a joke somewhere: One fine day wife of a husband served various forages in his dish. Then he asked his wife for the reason behind such dishes because he is not an animal.

His wife responded: Only animals do not praise what is served to them!
